We absolutely love everything about this place. The own always greets us at some point and the manager as well. My husband loved the drink and cigar special! It never disappoints. The polenta fries are delicious and remind me of eating it while I was in Italy. We are so glad to have such a great spot right done the road.

Best place in Madison. As a few new places are popping up, I’m excited, but nothing tops this one. Atmosphere is worth the trip all by itself. Staff has been friendly, food has been good, drinks have as well. Haven’t had a smoke, but was pleasantly surprised by the live music. Loud enough to enjoy, but even sitting upstairs it was easy to carry on a conversation without any trouble. Totally different vibe than the other two restaurants down town, so you have choices. I love their ursine neighbor, but unless I’m just craving a beer, HBBL is the spot.

Really good "hidden gem". The food was excellent, drinks were well made, and the growing cigar selection is nice. The jazz band was really good and was perfect for the atmosphere.

I cannot truly express my pleasure with Joe and his establishment. For an establishment only seven months in business, this place is doing it right. Four people tried half the menu. All of it was good to great. Varied options to mix Italian sauces with pastas and proteins in order to build your own dish. Don't hesitate to ask, "it's not on the menu but can I do the veal on risotto?" They will accommodate you. Nice selection of wines and liquors with a laaaarge bourbon inventory with good specials; beer selection is smaller but covers the necessities and, seriously, if you're looking for a beer bender , this isn't the place to go, find a sports bar. Fantastic smoked old fashioned and espresso martinis. Live jazz on Friday and Saturday, works perfectly with the setting and atmosphere. Best plan, enjoy dinner downstairs and then move upstairs for after-dinner cigars and cocktails. Jasmine took care of us upstairs. Nice growing selection of cigars and accessories. I have zero negatives about HBB&L. If I lived in Huntsville, this would a weekly destination.
